1000 Books Before Kindergarten

The Watertown Library and Oakville Branch Library are participating in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program!

This is a FREE program which encourages reading 1,000 books to children before they start Kindergarten.

  • Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate.
  • The program is self-paced and completion will depend on how often you read together.

Just keep track of the titles of the books read and remember that every book counts even repeated favorites!

  • Register and pick up a reading log at either the Watertown Library or Oakville Branch Library, download the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten App available on iTUNES or Google Play, or simply keep a list in a spiral notebook.

Registration for the ongoing 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program may be done after October 2, 2021 anytime the libraries are open. (Hours and Locations).

We want to help encourage your progress. Let us know when you reach milestones of 25, 50 or 100+ books and recieve a small reward!
