About Us: Overview

The Watertown Library Association is a nonprofit organization which has served the reading and research needs of its community since 1865. In 2015 we celebrated the 150th anniversary of our founding - learn more about Our History: A Timeline.

Our mission is to provide our patrons with access and guidance to materials, resources and services for their information, education and enrichment of life. Through computer technology we provide access to our own collections as well as outside resources.

Our Main Library is located at 470 Main Street in Watertown while the Branch Library is located at 55 Davis Street in Oakville. Hours of Operation are different for these two locations and circulation materials may vary.

This two site library provides print and non-print circulating materials as well as reference materials to borrowers of all ages.

Only Watertown and Oakville residents are issued Library Cards, however, any out-of-town patron with a valid library card issued by their hometown library may borrow materials.

With your library card you are eligible to check out books, movies, magazines, use the Internet and more.

Both locations offer free public access to the World Wide Web via secured terminals. Free WiFi is also available. Please familiarize yourself with our Internet Policy and Usage Guidelines.
